CIA begins arming Syrian rebels

The Central Intelligence Agency began providing small arms to vetted Syrian rebels in the past two weeks, according to The Washington Post.

The shipments — limited to light arms and ammunition — end months of delay after the Obama administration promised the shipments earlier this year when it concluded Syrian President Bashar Assad used chemical weapons on a small scale in April.
